At Last

Once again, we meet at last
remembered Decembers
frost coats the glass.

Here I am, there you are
picking and scratching
but it remains a scar

Cross the floor, dot the I’s
previous regret, nevermind
Once again our last reprise.

Silver planes across the sky
whisper faded lullabyes
twinkle, twinkle little star
girlish hopes I’ve left ajar.

Rip every dream
apart at the seams
and move on.
